Yellowstone Outfitters is a family owned business owned and operated by Lynn Madsen and wife Marcene along with son, Chad. Three generations of being in the outfitting business, we have had many years of combined experience guiding wilderness hunting and fishing packtrips. We feel this experience is a valuable asset to our hunters and guests, as we work in our wilderness camps as your guide and/or camp boss. We supply business, character and professionalism.

Location - Our Camp

All of our Pack Trips, Trail Rides and Fishing Trips originate from our base camp at Turpin Meadows on the Buffalo River, 45 miles northeast of Jackson, Wyoming. Parking and a 24-hour caretaker are available at our base campe for those who drive their own vehicles.

Guided Horseback Trail Rides

All day, Half day and 2 hour horseback rides in the backcountry of the wilderness. For the horse lover that just wishes to ride and return to the comfort of their motel accommodations that night.

All of these trips are customized to fit exactly what you are looking for. We specialize in meeting your needs and can put most any trip together.

Our season is from early June - October.

Fishing

Imagine yourself standing knee-deep in the Yellowstone or Thorofare Rivers, with the unsurpassed beauty of the Teton wilderness surrounding you. Meanwhile, the beauty and serenity of the vast and spectacular scenery will astound you. The sounds of the whispering pines, the alpine waters and the distant sound of coyotes will intoxicate you. The warm glow and radiant heat of an open campfire under the night sky filled with stars so bright will mesmerize you...

Once you have reached one of the campsites you can settle down and relax. The experienced crew takes care of all the work. They serve hearty meals with all the trimmings that are mouthwatering!

The fishing camps at Yellowstone Outfitters have been in operation since 1950 - that's three generations of outfitting. They have years of experience in guiding wilderness trail rides, fishing and sightseeing pack trips. Having made a lifetime of this operation, they have an in-depth knowledge of the area, and what it takes to make a memorable trip. Being an Orvis endorsed outfitter, the horses and equipment are top notch. Safety is always first and the knowledgeable staff will impress you with the expertise of their techniques.

Yellowstone Outfitters are geared for fishing trips, but are also fantastic sightseeing trips. Don't miss out on viewing the parting waters of the continental divide, or the abundant wildlife such as deer, elk, bear, coyotes, wolves, and birds of prey. Big Game Hunting

10-Day Teton Wilderness Pack Hunts(Elk and/or Moose)
Our Hawks Rest Camp is located in the Teton Wilderness northeast of Jackson...It sets off the southeast corner of Yellowstone Park between the Yellowstone and Thorofare Rivers...(Area 60 on a Game & Fish map)...It is a one day-pack 28 miles, from our base camp at Turpin Meadows...The Hawks Rest camp holds the reputation of being the furthest spot in the continental United States from a road in any direction.

7-Day Teton Wilderness Pack Hunts (Elk or Moose only)
This hunt is scheduled during October from our Hawks Rest Camp on the Yellowstone in the Teton Wilderness for those who cannot spend 10 days on a hunt. It is the same quality pack-in hunt with a quality wilderness camp experience, but just a shorter hunt.
