We are a full-time business and have over 90% repeat customers. We offer two and three-day pheasant hunting packages based out of Mitchell, South Dakota. With our service, you can enjoy a South Dakota outdoors experience, but come back to town each evening after a great day of hunting. After a delicious evening dinner included in our package, you are free to enjoy a night out on the town with the guys or relax in your own private room or our group hospitality room. With our service, you and your group members are not held “hostage” at a lodge which may not meet your expectations.

When we say we hunt WILD pheasants, we mean it. Our birds are not released, they are hatched and grow up in the wild. We pride ourselves in providing World Class wild pheasant hunting for over 30 years. We have exclusive rights to hunting land in the top pheasant producing counties in south central South Dakota. Mike Kuchera has an extensive knowledge of pheasant habitat and works closely with many landowners to develop the best pheasant and wildlife habitat on their farms. Mike is known for his ability to organize and orchestrate the hunts with a strong emphasis on safety in the field.

We offer only one complete package which is priced either as a two and three day hunt for groups from 8 to 18 people, and we can put individuals and smaller groups together to enjoy a hunt as well. You will have deluxe accommodations across from Cabela’s in Mitchell, three great meals per day, full-time staff, professional guides, dog handlers and well-trained fine bred Labrador retrievers. You will hunt on well-managed prime pheasant habitat with different acreages on private land each day. We hunt in a traditional field style of hunts, with a great emphasis on safety. Our staff is well trained to provide you a first-class hunting experience. We will provide assistance in planning your trip to South Dakota. Leave the details up to us.

Hunting Accommodations

Mike Kuchera's pheasant hunts are based out of Mitchell, South Dakota, the heart of South Dakota's world-famous pheasant hunting country. It is located a little over one hour's drive west of Sioux Falls, South Dakota. You can fly commercially into Sioux Falls or directly into Mitchell with any private plane.

Mitchell, located along Interstate 90, is a thriving community of 14,000 friendly faces and is most known for being home of the World's Only Corn Palace. Mitchell is also known for other tourist attractions as well, and now for a new Cabela's retail store. Cabela's, known as the World's Foremost Outfitter for hunting and fishing apparel, has an 85,000 square foot retail showroom in Mitchell. Cabela's has been a great hit with our hunters. They show up and immediately want to go to Cabela's.

Mike Kuchera’s South Dakota Guide Service pheasant hunting packages provide you with deluxe accommodations at the Mitchell Hampton Inn, located just off Interstate Exit 332 across from Cabela’s. Our package includes a night’s lodging for each day of hunting. For example, if you are hunting a three day hunt which is scheduled for a Friday, Saturday and Sunday, your lodging included in the package is for Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights. Each hunter has his/her own private room, and the hotel offers many great amenities such as an exercise room, Jacuzzi, indoor pool, great lobby with fireplace, and a beautiful breakfast area. Mike also offers a hospitality room where the hunters can gather together. Included in the hunting packages are a cooked breakfast off the menu or breakfast at the hotel, a hot lunch featuring a great meat of the day served in the field, and an evening dinner.
