Pennington Creek Hunting

Pennington Creek Hunting Club (PCHC) is located in the heart of Whitetail Country in Southern Oklahoma with over 8,500 acres of private Johnston County ranchland near Mill Creek.

One of Oklahoma's most beautiful streams, Pennington Creek, forms from a majestic spring just off the north side of the ranch. It winds through over three miles of our ranch bringing in a wide range of wildlife, not to mention being stockpiled with Smallmouth Bass. The dense woodlands on our ranch well mixed with the open grassland offers you an excellent chance at getting your kill of a lifetime.

The managed hunting on our ranch has stockpiled an abundance of mature Whitetail Bucks and Rio Grande Turkeys.

You will also find an abundance of wild hogs. Hunt these wild hogs year round from any of our hunting zones, each setup with a tower box blind for rifle hunters, quad pod for archery hunters, spin-cast corn feeder, and a protein feeder. We feed year round, so these hogs know where their permanent food source is.

Pennington Creek The Gray Ranch Company

Was established at Mill Creek, Oklahoma in 1936 by Earl Q. Gray of Ardmore, Oklahoma. He recognized the grazing potential of this limestone area of Johnston county which was further enhanced by it's proximity to the headwaters of Pennington Creek, a spring-fed stream of 20 to 40 feet running several miles through the 9,400 acre property. It's ownership gave him what he regarded as the best all-year-around grazing ranch in the state of Oklahoma.

Under the Walking G and Q bar brands, Earl Gray ran Hereford cattle here until his death in 1979. The ranch continued to operate as a family enterprise until 1993, when it passed into the hands of grandson Keith R. Gray. Like his father and grandfather, the third generation owner came to the Gray Ranch with a background, knowledge and experience in the cattle industry. Since that time the Gray Ranch Company has expanded into Murray and Carter counties.

At the present time, the operation is devoted to yearlings on grass combined with a herd of Black and Black Baldy cows.

The ranch office is maintained in Ardmore, Oklahoma, but the original site near Mill Creek continues as Gray Ranch Headquarters.

Lodging

A clean, comfortable, easily-accessed, but secluded hunting cabin is located on the ranch. Capable of sleeping six, our hunting cabin has all the amenities of a persons home. The cabin includes a fully furnished bedroom, living room, full bath, and full kitchen, as well as a fully enclosable (depending on the weather) outdoor pavilion just outside the hunting cabin. This pavilion has gas and charcoal grills, as well as a place to sit out around the fire.
