Four generations of our family have been associated with the Logging Camp Ranch. It isn’t a “dude” ranch or a refurbished historical site. It’s a live, working ranch,
from the 1880's to the present.
What it offers is as simple and as complex as the nature around it. We invite you to share in the beauty of the Little Missouri River Valley, the cedars and pines, the abundant wildlife, and the rugged buttes and canyons of the Badlands.
The mission statement of the Logging Camp Ranch is to live, work, and play in the North Dakota Badlands, and in doing so to improve the prosperity and stability of our home, community and state.
These buffalo are marked with the Elkhorn and Maltese Cross brands, both of which were the brands of the Theodore Roosevelt ranches. TR's conservation philosophies have resulted in the American bison being brought back from the threat of extinction We are pleased to be a part of this philosophy and are proud to offer a bison hunt in the spirit of the hunts that Roosevelt himself participated in.

THE HUNT
The beautiful combination of badlands and Ponderosa Pine forest has drawn people to this area long before the Logging Camp Ranch developed its present resort facilities.
When you stay with us you may choose to stay in our rustic log cabins, made from Ponderosa pine trees that grow on the ranch, or our newly constructed lodge, the "Rangerosa".
The ”Prairie Rose” is a one room, cozy cabin that sleeps 2-4 people. It has electricity and a deck. The cabin overlooks corrals which people use for their horses when they’ve come to the ranch to ride.
Nestled amongst the pine trees is the “Ranger” cabin. It can sleep up to 5 people. The Cabin has electricity, a wood burning stove, and a small refrigerator.
The “Little Mo”, our third cabin has a great vista of Sand Creek which winds its way to the Little Missouri River. It’s a great place to see the sunrise. This cabin has electricity, stove, 2 bathrooms, 2 bedrooms, a shower, a kitchen stocked with dishes and kettles, dining area and deck.
Our “Rangerosa Lodge” was constructed in 1997 and has all the comforts of home. There are 5 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, living and dining areas, a loft, a fully stocked kitchen, 2 refrigerators, a freezer, washer and dryer, and a large deck.

Our focus is the thrill of the hunt, the beauty of the country, the wonder of the wild creatures, and the joy of harvesting an animal.
