Downwind Outfitters is an Iowa based Guide Service dedicated in providing quality fair chase hunting in Southern Iowa and Northern Missouri.  We aggressively manage our hunting properties to maintain Quality Wildlife.

Mike Rastian an avid hunter for over 35 years will be your Host and Head Guide.

Our main hunting property is located in South Central Iowa it consists of approximately 230 acres, and is bordered with one of Iowa's largest Wildlife Management Areas which consists of over 16,000 acres of public hunting ground.  Our classic Iowa farm with it's windmills and grain silos has open fields, draws, 160 acres of timber, hedge rows, funnels, fingers, 2 ponds, seasonal creeks, as well as several established food plots.  A prime setting for deer and other wildlife.  In addition to our main hunting property we own or lease several other private properties that will be available to hunters.  Let us provide you with Quality Service and guide you to your chance at the "Hunt of a Lifetime"!

Our Guests will be picked up from Des Moines Int'l Airport.  You will then be driven approximately 55 min. to our fully furnished 3 bedroom 2 bath Guest Home built in 2001.  The Guest Home is nestled just a few minutes away from our main hunting property.  Here you will be able to experience a classic Iowa setting surrounded by corn and other crop fields, livestock, barns, silos, windmills, and good folks. 

                 

Our Hunting Packages Include:

• Ground Transportation to and from Des Moines Int'l Airport (up to 4 guests will be picked-up & dropped-off at Des Moines Int'l Airport, or you may choose to Rent-a-Car at the Airport.)

• Accommodations (fully furnished Guest Home with 3 bedrooms 2 baths and an indoor whirlpool.)

• Fully stocked kitchen (kitchen will have all the basics needed and will be stocked with food and beverages.)

• Complete BBQ dinner on the first and last night's of your stay.

• Ground Transportation to and from our Guest Home and Hunting Properties.

• Ground blinds and tree stands are provided and will be placed in prime locations for your specific hunt (hunters must bring their own Safety Harness.)

• We offer Fully Guided as well as Semi-Guided hunts (depending on the Hunting Package you choose.)

• Fishing everyday of your stay on one of 2 ponds for Largemouth Bass, Crappie, and Catfish (catch & release only, we will provide the tackle.)

• Trap Shooting (we will provide you with a case of clay targets and a target launcher we do not provide weapon's or ammo.)

• All Hunting is on Private Property however guests may hunt on the over 16,000 acre Wildlife Management Area (Public Land) that borders our main property.
