Coon Creek Hunt Club

Coon Creek Hunt Club’s owners have a passion for hunting and believe in the tradition of the sport. Our 300 acres have been thoroughly maintained and managed to provide excellent hunting habitat for upland hunters.

Why travel for hours when such a prime hunting opportunity exists this close to home? Coon Creek Hunt Club is located in Garden Prairie, IL, approximately 45 minutes northwest of Chicago. We offer hunting adventures on privately owned acres. Our upland hunting areas contain prairie grasses, sorghum & corn plots. Our superior cover provides a challenging and fun hunting experience with fast flying birds and no bag limits. We only release top quality birds.

We have private memberships and group hunting opportunities to meet any of your objectives. Our diversity allows us to provide the perfect introduction to the sport for a new hunter. Come try out Coon Creek Hunt Club by taking advantage of one of our introductory hunts. Our designated hunting areas will ensure that your personal or corporate hunt stays within your own group (hunts are not mixed) on your own private field.

There are limited membership opportunities offered by the Coon Creek Hunt Club. We are open six days a week from September 15th through March 31st (weather permitting). Reservations are always required and any scratch birds harvested during a hunt are free to members.

We encourage you to bring your own dog; however, if you don’t have a dog or are in need of any assistance, our experienced guides and dogs are available upon request for an additional fee.

European Shoots

Coon Creek Hunt Club This event will challenge the best shooters and sharpen your shooting skills with fast moving, high-flying excitement! European shoots are great for larger groups and are ideal for corporate entertaining with a minimum of 10 shooters and a maximum of 24.

You will love the fast action and non-stop shooting. Hunters are stationed at 10 different shooting locations. You know when the action has started by the sound of gunfire. This type of shooting will challenge even the best shooter. Each station is spread far enough from each other for safety purposes and also to provide a different hunting perspective. During the shoot, each team will rotate to other shooting stations and each team will utilize all shooting stations. At the end of the hunt all birds are divided up equally between the teams.

Trout Creek Retrievers

Trout Creek Retreivers offers a variety of dog training opportunities including training for puppies, started dogs, obedience, upland bird, waterfowl and handling. In addition to training Trout Creek Retreivers has a breeding program, which only includes dogs that meet the above standards. Great care and effort are taken to ensure excellent health, genetics, natural ablilities, desire, temperament and classic looks. Through selective breeding Trout Creek Retrievers obtain consistency in health, performance and conformation.

Coon Creek Hunt Club Lake Michigan Fishing Charters

Come and spend a day with Master Captain Bob Rossa aboard the Migrator, one of the premier sport fishing charter boats on Lake Michigan. The Migrator is a 33' Baha Sport fisherman ocean-going vessel, built with safety and comfort in mind.

There is plenty of room for your entire party, plus a spacious enclosed cabin with full size bathroom. We are also equipped with the latest fishing, electronic, and safety equipment. Your Captain has 28 years experience fishing the Great Lakes. He takes great pride in his boat and fishing expertise, and will work hard the entire day to make your charter the best possible!

Captain Bob RossaThe species of fish we will target are King Salmon - Chinooks, Coho Salmon - Silvers, Rainbow Trout - Steelhead, Brown Trout, and Lake Trout - Lakers. Some of these fish can get to be 30 plus pounds!

Sporting Clays

Our two story sporting clays tower will challenge even the most experienced shooters. With 12 shooting stations and a variety of targets to shoot at this is one event you don't want to miss out on.

This tower features 2 traps per station of varying sizes, heights, angles, and distances. We offer standard pigeons, midis, minis, as well as rabbits. One round of clays consists of 25 shots from 6 stations on either side of the target so make sure you bring plenty of shells!

May through September we will be hosting sporting clays shoots every Wednesday evening and every other Saturday. Please check back later for additional information on pricing, times, and special offers.

Because Coon Creek Hunt Club is an environmentally friendly shooting facility we require steel shot to be used in all sporting clay events.
