Bugle Basin
Located in the southeast corner of BC, Bugle Basin takes in some breath taking pristine alpine wilderness. Your hosts Alex and Lori Smutny welcome you to some of the finest Big Game Hunting and Back Country Recreation adventures in the BC Rockies.
Our area takes in the Coyote creek drainage and our base camp is located approx.1 1/2 hr drive northeast of Cranbrook,B.C. which is approx. 80miles north of the Montana,Idaho borders, a portion of 2 Provincial Parks are included in this area.
- Choose from 10 different big game species for the perfect hunt experience.
- Fish pristine alpine rivers and lakes for Cutthroat Trout, Char (Dolly Varden) and Rainbow Trout.
- Explore the BC Rocky Mountains with elevations from 4000 ft to 9000 ft.
- Family owned and operated, our experienced guides and cooks help make this an experience to remember.
- Located just 15 minutes from two different natural hot springs where you can soak your worries away.
About Our Camps
Base Camps:
- Base camp is accessible by vehicle, so you're able to bring all necessary gear to this location and go from there.
- New main lodge built in 2007 where the chef will prepare all you can eat "Gourmet" meals.
- # 2 other large cabins to accommodate guests.
- Hot and cold running water.
- Wood heated.
- Hot showers.
- Generated power.
- Coyote Creek flows only 50 yards from the porch.
- Breathtaking scenic veiws.
Spike Camps:
- Included is another cabin in the south end of the area, which sleeps 3.
- This cabin is based in an area that is called a road closure(which means that vehicle use is prohibited) and gives us the opportunity to use horses or foot traffic only.
- Several wall tent camps or pup tents are placed strategically throughout the area to keep you close to the action.
