Forty years ago, when Air Melançon was created, the desire to roll back the frontiers and bring Quebec's backwoods within everyone's reach was the founder's motivation. The airline had four objectives: to demystify planes and bush flying, to provide the best possible service, to guarantee the highest safety standards and to unveil the hunting and fishing treasures concealed in Quebec's forests. In this way, a tradition was established which is still being fostered today.

Lodging

In all, there are 33 chalets available in our three outfitting territories. All those in the Moselle and Sauterelle territories are on the waterfront of private lakes. In the case of Baie Du Nord, at the Gouin Reservoir, the distance of civilized life means ultimate calmness in open spaces. All the chalets at this destination have running water and shower facilities. the chalets at Moselle and Sauterelle are either rustic in design, or come with running water and a shower.

All the chalets have a gas stove a refrigerator with a freezer, utensils, accessories (coffee maker, etc..), propane lights, solar powered systems, a wood stove, and firewood. There are also many other conveniences. Tidiness and good condition of each chalets are aspects in which we take pride, and will encourage you to come back and see us, year after year.

Established in 1957 Air Melançon has steadily expanded and modernized its seaplane fleet, adapting to the needs of its most demanding clients. The comfort we provide, the courtesy of our entire staff, the reliability and safety of our aircraft are the outcome of 40 years of experience.

Our five aircraft are rigorously inspected according to government standards, and our own engineer's high standards are a model for the industry. The planes have the most recent equipment and have been updated even ahead of their time.

Our team of pilots have accumulated experience amounting to a total of tens of thousands of hours in the air, under all conditions, even the most severe. Bush flying holds no secrets for us, and your safety and comfort take priority. When you board one of our planes, you'll immediately understand why Air Melançon has led the way in Québec for 40 years !

Described as one of the 10 greatest Canadian achievements of the century, the DHC-2 Beaver is simply the best bush plane. Reliability, sturdiness, and safety are it's best known features. We have four of these aircraft with stretch cabins, all of which come with enormous dome windows to give all passengers greater visibility.
